Parallel Practice of Cleveland, Ohio is a graphic design studio that captures and distills the essence of any organization into a compelling and flexible visual kit of parts. We then make consistent applications of the brand across multiple touch points: business cards, stationery, marketing collateral, websites, interactive presentations—even signage.
Brian Frolo, Founder and Principal, received dual Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science degrees from Kent State University (KSU) in 1993. After summer internships with Northeast Ohio firms Payto Architects, Richard Fleischman Architects and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (Chicago), he settled in his hometown of Cleveland. Five years at van Dijk, Pace, Westlake Architects (now Westlake, Reed, Leskosky) were followed by nine years at FORUM Architects where his initial role as building designer morphed into one as graphic designer for several internal and external assignments.

Parallel has expanded its print and web design capabilities by forming a collaboration with an old friend and colleague, Chris Suster, Owner and Principal of Christopher Design. Chris has over 23 years experience designing print and environmental graphics for clients such as University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, and several local non-profits including The Clean Air Conservancy, The Cleveland Foundation and The Cleveland International Film Festival. Our firms share the same work ethic, attention to detail and concern for our client’s communication needs and we are certain that our work together will benefit them. We have agreed to team up on print and web design projects on an as-needed basis and our companies will remain separate; however, we will work together depending on the scope of a particular project.

Parallel’s identity, web and collateral work for Greencore Architectural Products has also been selected for publication in Crescent Hill Books/HarperCollins Publishers June release of The Big Book of Green Design.

A restrained color palette, an expressed grid and the frank use of the Helvetica typeface convey the efficiency and modularity of Greencore Architectural Products' sustainable building panels. With just a handful of 'moving parts', a consistent visual language is maintained from the logo through the website.
